An area of concern at this property was the sandy lawn surrounding the inside braai room, resulting in dirt being trampled into the house constantly. We used cobbles to pave this area with colours that would complement that of the house. Two garden beds with rivers rocks were installed, one with Tulbaghia violacea and the other with large Trachelospermum jasminoides against wooden trellises. A border of small retainer blocks was built to partially hide the stem of an existing palm, planting the blocks with a variety of vygies to cascade over the edge and provide summer colour. The alley next to the house was upgraded with new crushed stone, realignment of pavers, and installation of weed bearing fabric.
